This is a 460 bed Residential Healthcare Facility, located on a 15 acre suburban campus, with an Adult Day Healthcare Program, outpatient services, and a child daycare center.

We completed the first section in 1988. The project consisted of 55,000 square feet of adaptive reuse of an existing elementary school and 100,000 square feet of new construction which was composed of a one story entrance lobby and a four story building to house resident rooms and dining facilities. This initial phase included 300 beds and a 50 slot Adult Day Healthcare Program.

We also designed a $30 million 135,000 square foot expansion, which includes 160 sub-acute care beds, an increased Adult Day Healthcare Program to accommodate 120 participants per day, an outpatient Diagnostic and Treatment Clinic, and a Rehabilitation Facility.

Resident rooms in the new facility are either single bedded or bi-axial. As a result, all residents have their own window and individual climate control. In keeping with the configuration of the original building, the addition has been designed around an outdoor courtyard, creating a continuous loop for residents to wander under the watchful, yet unobtrusive supervision of the staff.

Our most recent project for Gurwin involves interior alterations to the original 1988 resident pavilion. The work includes new finishes, lighting, and millwork.
